Brand Identity

An identity of your own.

Logos, visual language and connected brand systems.

Brand Identity

An identity should have a point of view. Familiar shapes. Safe colors. A mark that could belong to almost anyone. A useful identity begins with a sharper question: what should people recognize about this company before they have read the whole explanation? The answer needs to be visible, distinctive and consistent across the places the brand appears.

Pseudoscience Studio develops brand identity for brands and organizations. Based in Los Angeles and working nationwide, we connect creative direction with hands-on logo and brand system design. The mark is one part of the identity. Typography, color, imagery, composition and motion give it a context in which it can actually work.

We begin with the business, audience and product. We look at the category without treating it as a template. The identity should be clear across different contexts, with enough range to hold its own on screen, in print and on an object.

The visual direction becomes a system through real applications. We consider how the logo behaves at small sizes, how type organizes information and how color supports recognition. We test the identity across useful touchpoints, rather than judging it only in a presentation. A brand system should make decisions easier when the next asset needs to be made.

Depending on the brief, the work can include a primary mark, supporting logo arrangements, typography and color direction, graphic devices, image guidance and brand applications. Guidelines record the decisions that matter and show how to use them. The scope is shaped around your stage, priorities and the touchpoints the company needs next.

If you are looking for a brand identity partner, bring us the current picture: your product, audience, existing assets and the reasons the brand needs to change. We will discuss what needs to be retained, what needs to be challenged and how the identity can grow with the company.
